Abstract
Energy is the important element in the life of human being. The future energy system should be clean and environment-friendly as well as considering the availability of renewable energy and straightforward to distribute to the end user. One of the clean energy sources is the solar energy. The technology of photovoltaic is able to convert the sunlight i.e. photon to the electric energy directly. The 5 kWp Grid Connected Photovoltaic Energy System consists of subsystems photovoltaic (PV) array with 40 PV module type multi crystalline with its capacity of 5000 Wo and inverter capacity, of 6000 W. The sunlight is converted to electric energy by photovoltaic (PV) and if the output of PV electric overloads, the energy excess was distributed to the electric grid. On the contrary, if the energy supplied by PV system decreases, energy from the grid was utilised The hourly and daily average of PV efficiencies varied from 9.313 to 14.916% and 46.5 to 85.7%, respectively. The hourly and daily average of P V performance ratio varied 11.7 to 13.28% and 68.09 to 82.18% respectively. The hourly and daily average of inverter efficiencies variedfi-om 73.44% to 97.33%, 92.60% to 95.86% respectively. The one year electric energy production of system (2007) has 3800 kWh. The implementation of the proposed technoloD• is-ill be able to supply the public electric source and decreases the dependency on the conventional fiiels. Therefore the technology decreases emission of air pollution so it can reduce global warming and climate change.
