    Abstract

    The study described purchases decisions about nine necessities (sembilan bahan pokok/sembako) in modern market in Yogyakarta. This research used survey method of factual investigation using a structured list of questions. A sample of consumers that consisted of 157 people who purchased sembako in modern market was selected with convenience sampling method to be respondents of the research. Data was analyzed using frequency description. The finding of the research showed that the aspect of prices, qualities, services, style and packaging, variations, atmosphere, locations, and promotions were customers’ consideration in purchase decisions of sembako in modern market.
