    Abstract

    Bioactivity of the extracts of goat weed (Ageratum conyzoides) leaves and sword grass (Imperata cilindrica) rhizomes on mortality and development of Plutella xylostella was studied using choice and non choice test under laboratory experiment with a single factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatments consist of: sword grass rhizome extract concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, goat weed leaves extract concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, mixture of sword grass rhizome and goat weed leaves extract concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60% with a ratio of 1:1 v/v and Deltamethrin 0.0625% EC. The results showed that goat weed leaves extract and sword grass rhizome extract can be used as a control agent for P. xylostella larvae. Mixed extract of goat weed leaves and sword grass rhizome did not exhibit synergism. Extract concentration of 20% have had the same ability with synthetic insecticide, so that goat weed leaves and sword grass rhizome can be used to substitute synthetic insecticides.
