    Abstract

    The attractiveness of citrus plant treated with an nC21 horticultural mineral oil to Trichograma japonicum (Heminoptera: Trichogramatidae) was evaluated under Laboratory conditions. Responses of T. japonicum to Diaphorina citri-infested citrus plant volatiles paired with volatiles emanating from leaves dipped in 2%, 1% and 0.5% v/v aqueous emulsions horticultural mineral oil or clean air were determined in Y-tube olfactometer. The results indicated that application of the oils attracted the porasitoid and the increase of oil concentration would increase the attractiveness. This showed that detection of specific plant volatiles as if infested by D. citri contributed to their response to oil deposits on the citrus leaves. The present of oil may lead to the release of attractant volatiles for parasitoid from citrus leaves.
