Abstract
Daerah telitian terletak di daerah Loajanan 200 meter dari tepi jalan raya Samarinda – Tenggarong, ( 17 Km. dari Samarinda) , Kalimantan Timur (jalan raya berada disepanjang tepi Sungai Mahakam). Formasi Pembawa Batubara (Coal Bearing Formation), daerah telitian termasuk dalam Formasi Pulau Balang yang berumur Miosen Bawah – Miosen Tengah dan Formasi Balikpapan yang berumur Miosen Tengah – Miosen Akhir. Struktur geologi daerah telitian berupa sesar naik dan lipatan yang mempengaruhi keberadaan batubara, baik geometri ,kualitas maupun kuantitasnya, serta berpengaruh terhadap morfologi daerah telitian. Potensi batubara daerah telitian cukup menjanjikan untuk penambangan skala kecil. 16 seam ditemukan di daerah telitian, 10 seam terdapat pada Formasi Pulaubalang dengan kemiringan lapisan tegak antara 72° – 85°dan 6 seam pada Formasi Balikpapan dengan kemiringan landai antara 10°- 14°. Kalori batubara berkisar antara 5800 – 6300 kcal/kg (adb), sulfur antara 0.81 – 4,76. Hauling road sangat dekat sekali, kurang lebih 200 meter ke arah sungai Mahakam. Permasalahan yang timbul, kemiringan lapisan yang tegak, banyak cleat, pemukiman dan tataguna lahan penduduk , hauling road, disposal serta belum adanya pelabuhan. Abstract Research area located 200 meters from edge of the highway Samarinda – Tenggarong. (17 Km from Samarinda), East Kalimantan ( located along the highway edge of the Mahakam River). Coal Bearing Formation the research area, including the Pulaubalang Formation (Under Miocene – Middle Miocene) and the Balikpapan Formation (Middle Miocene – Late Miocene). Geological structure in the form reverse fault and folds that affect existence of coal, either geometry, quality and quantity, and affect the morphology of area. Coal potential is promising for the small-scale mining. Find 16 seams in the area, there are 10 seams on Pulaubalang Formation with vertical layer dip between 72° - 85° and 6 seams on the Balikpapan Formation with horizontal layer dip between 10° - 14°. Coal Calorie ranges from 5800 – 6300 kcal/kg, sulfur between 0.81 – 4.76, Hauling road very close, less than 200 meters to the Mahakam River.
