    Abstract

    This study aims to examine the pyysical properties of the soil after the eruption of Merapi in the use of agricultural land in the village of Umbulharjo, Cangkringan, Sleman regency. The method used was a survey method, the method of purposive, and zigag method. Soil sampling carries out on the use of dry land, shrub, grass, irrigated fields, and forest. Analysis of Soil Texture, Bulk Density, Particle Density, Porosity, Soil Mousture Characteristics, Hydraulic Conductivity, and Organic Carbon. The result showed material eruption and land use affect the percentage of sand, silt, and clay. The impact of the eruption of Merapi affect the value of heavy volume, density, and porosity. Value of the pore space in each land use are included in both categories for plants growth. Levels of moisture on some land use is only seen in paddy fields that are affected by changes in soil structure. The use of dry land and paddy have agihan pore distribution better than any other land use. Regosol soil and sand fraction is dominated by volcanic material that is easy to pass the water so it does not affect the value of the permeability of the soil. Spread % C-Organic soil that is high in grass and fields of land use, while the lowest in the shrubs land use.
