Abstract
ABSTRACT
Air pollution is a serious problem in recent years. The increasing number of
vehicles led to a growing number of emissions. Fuel oil is an irreplaceable energy
that is getting thinner stock. It needs vehicles with alternative fuels other than oil.
There are some vehicles with alternative fuels other than oil, with various advantages
and disadvantages. One of which is a hybrid car, the motion system is a mix of oil
and non oil vehicle. LIPI hybrid cars is proff of Indonesia peoples can make cars that
are enviromentally friendly and fuel efficient cars in response to requirements with
alternative fuels. LIPI car needs to be analyzed acros disciplines in order to know the
advantages and shortcomings as a basic for development to mass production.
LIPI hybrid car exterior design is analyzed to know and understand the
system architectures. Form of exterior design elements were analyzed by the method
of design basic Wucius Wong. While the perception of respondents treated with the
QFD method to determine the level of satisfaction and the importance of attributes
that exist in order to obtain the level of consumer desires as the basic for
development into a mass product.
From this research note that the LIPI car design process meet automotive
industry standards, through the planning, development, production, testing, and
evaluation. LIPI car exterior design contains the basic elements include concept
design, form and coherence. Style of the car follow the development of global car
style. Respondent satisfaction analysis results obtained order of importance of
attributes that exist in car. Results of this study is expected to provide input to the
development of LIPI car in order to meet the needs of consumers and accepted by the
market so it can be to the mass production stage.
